Mauritius Beaches Tour


Mauritius is famous for the endless white sandy beaches, the clean nice warm seawater and the turquoise blue lagoons. There is an offshore riff almost around the whole island. It is the main factor in the genesis of this paradise with beaches and lagoons with nice sandy beaches.

Many of these Mauritius beaches are situated next to the big hotels. However, it is important to know that all are public.

Blue Bay – the bay with its nice deep blue colour in the south-east of Mauritius. If you walk the bay down you will find a series of small lonely beautiful bays opens up. Blue Bay is particularly famous for its snorkelling trips. The marine ecosystem here provides a rare beauty of different species of flora and fauna.

Belle Mare – is perfectly suited for sports activities like jogging and walking. It is also a great place for endless long walks along the coast. Belle Mare is famous for the combination of colours. The turquoise deep blue gentle lagoon ends up in a white clean beach which is the border to the lush green grassland covered by many trees and plants.

Flic-en-Flac – is the longest beach on the west coast of Mauritius. It consists ashore corals, sea urchin and shells which make the beach special and unique. It has a turquoise blue lagoon which offers best swimming possibilities.

Tamarin – is one of the rare places which hasn’t got an offshore riff so the sea is tougher. In the shallow water of Tamarin Bay, it is not dangerous to swim, surf or enjoy the waves. The ground of the sea consists only sand and some stones which make this a unique Mauritius beach.

Le Morne – is a symbol of the slaves’ fight for freedom. The white coral sand beach is very beautiful with very clear water which provides a beautiful visibility. Perfect wind conditions prevail all year round providing best time for windsurfing and kite surfers.

St Felix – is wonderful, the exceptionally white sand, which flows into the turquoise green of the Indian Ocean gives a wonderful contrast to the verdant trees over there. It is very lonely and offers an excellent opportunity to chill out and relax. The ground of the lagoon is covered with corals in which one or the other fish from the family of the highly toxic stone fishes can be found.

Pamplemousses Botanical Garden


If you love the green sights and colourful flowers, you will surely enjoy the Pamplemousse a lot.

The Botanic Garden, formally known as Sir Seewoosagur Botanic Garden, is located in the proximity of Port-Louis in the district of Pamplemousse. Mauritius botanical garden – Pamplemousse is home to an incredible variety of tropical plants. With many indigenous plants, Pamplemousse is one of the most visited attractions in Mauritius. Is has 650 varieties of plants among which Baobabs, plamier bouteillie, ineluctable giant water lilies are very famous. Around 85 different varieties of palm trees brought from different corners of the world, acts as the décor to this very old Pamplemousse garden.

It was the first botanical garden in the southern hemisphere of Mauritius. Pamplemousse had gone through good and tough times too in its lifetime. The garden is 37 hectares big, which has nice walkways everywhere. Besides the nice and wide variety of trees and plants, you will find an old colonial castle called ‘Chateau Mon Plaisir’, a sugar mill and a farm with deer and turtles. The botanical garden stretches over endless acres of land and it takes more than a week to cover the whole garden.

Formerly known as Royal Botanic gardens, was renamed as Pamplemoussin 1988. In beloved memory of the father of the nation, there is a funerary monument near the Chateau de Mon plaisir, consisting of the freshwater pond crowned by the lotus flower. Pamplemousse was one of the oldest and the most remarkable botanical collections in the tropics and a must visit place in Mauritius.

Seven Coloured Earth – Chameral Village


One of the most interesting and beautiful places in Mauritius is Chameral. This little village near Ayati Hotels in south Mauritius is primarily known for its scenic locations and natural attraction in its neighbourhood. Among these, the SEVEN COLORED EARTH, THE CHAMERAL FALLS and BLACK RIVER GORGES NATIONAL PARK are very famous. The area is surrounded by the locally grown coffee and Rum distillery. Beautiful viewpoints and green hills are everywhere, together and along the seven coloured earth and waterfalls.

Chameral Waterfall is a nature’s beauty. The drop of water is almost 100 meters down. There is a nice viewpoint that can be reached by car, is a must see location in Mauritius.

Seven Coloured earth is another nature’s beauty which is a result from the cooling of molten rocks. The ground is something you have never seen before. A close view is better than the views from the timber platform and walkways erected there.

You can even encounter the popular adventurous sports in the village like mountain biking and horseback riding. The adventure park in the forest provides activities such as ropeways, zip lines and mini suspension bridges.
